The AA

The Automobile Association has been around in the UK since 1905, ironically to challenge the police who were perceived to be too aggressive with their new “speed trap “operations. Cyclists and a motorcyclist were employed and from then, it has grown into the largest motoring organization in the Great Btitain.

Today it all looks very different to back then, it has grown as the ownership of vehicles grew and was and is a driving force in all things motoring from offering breakdown cover and insurance to road safety and motor sport. So The AA can be seen primarily as a insurance financial organization now and is fully regulated.
